Going to Work | the first four years
https://thefirstfouryears.wordpress.com/2012/06/20/going-to-work
The first four years. June 20, 2012. LPK decided he was going to work with Daddy today. He packed a work bag, gave me lots of hugs and kisses, said he’d miss me, and let himself out the front door (after telling me, quite seriously, that he would be ok and Daddy needed his help). Once outside he became a bit uncertain. He ended up sitting on the stairs rather morosely waiting for Daddy to come take him to work. He’s currently hammering away on the porch. I think he’s pretty happy. Enter your comment here.

Breakfast | the first four years
https://thefirstfouryears.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/breakfast
The first four years. June 7, 2012. Today I rose, bleary-eyed, and was met with enthusiastic requests for breakfast. I had already hunkered down in my nursing chair so I told LPK something along the lines of:. 8220;Why don’t you go find your cheerios and a bowl? You know, something ambiguous enough to keep him occupied for a few minutes until I had more hands free. And indeed, it was some minutes later when the cheerful face reappeared. 8221; I was suspicious, at best. We took a stroll to the kitchen.

Good Days | the first four years
https://thefirstfouryears.wordpress.com/2012/06/06/834
The first four years. June 6, 2012. I didn’t think yesterday would be a good day. Roo was up every. single. hour. of the night. Funnily enough, I can handle that jut fine. Night waking don’t bother me at all, what is extremely frustrating is getting the baby back to sleep at 5am, hoping for that last hour of sleep, and hearing a little voice pipe up “Mommy, the sun is awake! He won’t take a bottle or a pacifier. When he was first born, he would suck for a little on a finger or pacifier (althoug...You are...

CSA Week One | the first four years
https://thefirstfouryears.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/csa-week-one
The first four years. June 11, 2012. I’ve been so excited about our CSA– we’ve wanted to do this for several years, and only this year did we make it a big enough priority to remember to register in January and put aside the money. I really miss the midwest, can you tell? Here is my basket today:. And the produce laid out:. Let’s see, I got:. 4 large beets with tops. I probably could have fit more in my basket, but I don’t know how well everything keeps and I don’t want to waste anything. LPK was pretty ...

The first four years. My Life, Recently. May 30, 2012. LPK found this most amusing at the zoo: trying to pick locks on the animal cages. I fear he may succeed one day. He likes to dress himself now. On a recent 80 degree day he chose: wool sweater and hat. Nothing else was allowed near his body. LPK also discovered cabinets. In about a minute flat he also found the peanut butter and tried to stuff a good half-cup in his mouth. I’m melting…. From → Family. The First Four Years. May 23, 2012. May 21, 2012.

Diaper Organization | the first four years
https://thefirstfouryears.wordpress.com/2012/06/20/diaper-organization
The first four years. June 20, 2012. For the longest time (ok, three months) I couldn’t figure out a good way to store my diapers. Finally my sister suggested I just get a plastic chest of drawers. I should have thought of that myself, really. I’ll blame baby brain for now. My diapers are all beautifully organized and easily accessible. Since I love reading and seeing others cloth arrangements, I thought I’d share my modest stash. Chest of drawers. Changing pad and cloth wipes on top. Larr; CSA Week Two!

Saturday, March 25, 2006. Standing in the courtroom,. Silent and alone,. Entreated by the jurist,. Still, plea she gave him none. Processing towards the altar,. White robes she'd donned with care,. Surrounded by attendants,. Ribbons in her hair. Down upon the altar,. Wooden though it be,. Stone there was beneath her,. Silent still was she. Rocks were placed upon her. The crowd stood silent by,. At the last her voice was heard. Jesu, mercy" was her cry. Posted by Liz @ 7:21 AM. Links to this post. I poure...

Friday, August 25, 2006. My father was not a perfect person. As I mentioned earlier he had a pretty hot temper. But he gave us examples of hospitality, compassion, and the need to respect even people who weren't very lovely that I sometimes think is lacking today. My father-in-law was similar in many respects. He also hired the guys who were down and out. He, however, was a Democrat and a union man through and through. Still he taught his children similar lessons. Posted by Liz @ 4:41 PM. In 2006 in our ...
