The engine for my bike was taken from an old ‘Con saw’, I striped it down so just the head remained so it would fit tidy into the standard frame. To mount my engine I just simply eyed it up to the position I wanted it, in the very centre of the frame. I used 3mm steal to create a bracket that I TIG welded to the frame. To bring it into the ‘Ice Bike’ theme I sprayed the centres of the wheels white and blue. The increase in width in the frame meant I had to create extra bushings for the wheels. I am happy with my spraying and colour choices. the sky blue and navy blue of the team is shown through-out the bike and the two colours work well together. For my back fender I used a 2mm strip of steel which I cut the to the required length and the I got an empty paint can and bent the steel around it to get the shape of the standard wheel which I was using. Just another WordPress.com site. A hole was drilled in the crossbar. I made a small bracket for the mudguard so that it could be riveted well to the frame using the pop-rivet gun. It was sprayed yellow first and when dry orange was added and when that was died the laquer was sprayed on. The stickers were printed and then I decided to cut out the stickers because i didn’t want the white background. The sticker on the tank shows a Maori Tribal face tattoo. Front Light and Lithopane.
