My Model Motorbike Blog. November 23, 2011. Ran into a few problems with my tank. I had originally painted the tank black but then decided I wanted to paint it red. I primed the tank using acid 8 etch primer which went fine and prepared it for the red paint. I sprayed the red which was a “Ferrari Red” two pack paint (Unfortunately not left over from spraying my Ferrari). My Model Motorbike Blog. November 7, 2011. Frame: Below are pictures of my frame now and at different stages during the semester:. Note that the holes need to be drilled 25mm. This probably should have been done before shaping but I made these at home and didn’t have one available. I will update these photos once the holes are drilled. Here are my completed footpegs, made on the lathe from 16mm diameter Aluminium. I also have the bushings required to assemble the front suspension made. November 7, 2011.

Just another WordPress.com site. November 28, 2011. The finish product turned out well enough i am happy with it. Th stickers gives the bike a bit of character. I am very happy with the bike and really enjoyed designing it and making it. November 28, 2011. To make the seat i first of all cut out foam to the dimensions i wanted and rounded the front of it. If I was to do this project again I think I would have be more productive with my time because towards the end I had a number of ideas that would improve my bike but because I was so short on time I was unable to complete them. Just another WordPress.com site. A hole was drilled in the crossbar. I made a small bracket for the mudguard so that it could be riveted well to the frame using the pop-rivet gun. It was sprayed yellow first and when dry orange was added and when that was died the laquer was sprayed on. The stickers were printed and then I decided to cut out the stickers because i didn’t want the white background. The sticker on the tank shows a Maori Tribal face tattoo. Front Light and Lithopane. Handle bars and grips.
