The book is a rich and powerful allegorical story of the allure of the gang. The story is beautifully illustrated with hand-carved woodcut art by illustrator David Frampton. After doing some research, I came across some simple directions to create woodcut art in the classroom using styrofoam plates. Those lines pick up the ink and the part colored in with pencil will not.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Today Landry went to her first dance class! I signed her up for the Pre-Ballet class at Lisa's Dance Connection. It's for 2-3 year olds. This past May, when we went to Bethany's recital, I saw the Pre-Ballet class perform and just knew Landry needed to be on that stage next time!
