Enjoy the simple things in life. Monday, December 6, 2010. I rolled 104 strips. First, folding the strips in half lengthwise, then hand stitched the bottom of each one to keep it from unraveling. As you can see in the background, the base of the wreath. Due to having a plethora of strips, I covered the white styrofoam craft wreath so it would not show underneath. I am very glad I did that, since the rolled pieces do not go all the way around the wreath. December 08, 2010. The GinGer BrEaD HouSe.

Monday, January 24, 2011. Easy Woodcut Art Activity. My grade five class recently read the book "Riding the Tiger". By Eve Bunting. The book is a rich and powerful allegorical story of the allure of the gang. The story is beautifully illustrated with hand-carved woodcut art by illustrator David Frampton. After doing some research, I came across some simple directions to create woodcut art in the classroom using styrofoam plates. Those lines pick up the ink and the part colored in with pencil will not.
