baking fiends unite!: April 2007

Monday, April 30, 2007. Busy as a BEEEEEEEEEE. I've had not been baking AT ALL for the past 2 weeks and have a very valid. Reason for doing so. baking fiends unite!: Baked Mooncakes 2012

http://bakingfiend.blogspot.com/2012/09/baked-mooncakes-2012.html

Tuesday, September 18, 2012. For myself, I always prefer baked mooncakes, compared to snowskin ones. I always find the snowskin too sweet for my liking. The lotus paste itself is already pretty sweet, snowskin, well, has high sugar content too. These are the baked mooncakes I did. I also made some piglets. The mooncakes are single yolk ones, as I am not a yolk fan and it's high in calories and cholesterol. As for the piglets, they are only 35gms each and contain no filling. baking fiends unite!: Sour Cream Cuppies

http://bakingfiend.blogspot.com/2012/12/sour-cream-cuppies.html

Saturday, December 22, 2012. Guilty of impulsive buying, this time, it's a tub of sour cream. Well, I did a banana bread and still left with alot of sour cream. So, upon some googling, spotted a sour cream cupcakes recipe. Here's how the cupcakes turn out. It's very moist! However, the original recipes called for 200gm of sugar, which I think will be too much, so I reduced 20gms. Also added almond essence to make it more flavourful. Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy 2013!

baking fiends unite!: More mooncakes

http://bakingfiend.blogspot.com/2012/10/more-mooncakes.html

Sunday, October 07, 2012. One more post on mooncakes. Made these mini ones without yolks. The round ones are filled with mocah lotus paste, which i found the taste disappointing as it has a bitter after-taste and the mocha flavor is missing. As for the square mini-ones, they are filled with white lotus paste. Yummy! Posted by Baking Fiend at 1:29 PM. Chocolate Bottom Banana Cake. Happy Chinese New Year! Click here to join.

Kayte's Kitchen: June 2008

Saturday, June 28, 2008. I love pot lucks at work. It gives me a chance to bake something new and have people to share it with so I don't eat it all by myself. Everyone at work said they wanted cookies. And they requested the molasses cookies I made around the holidays. This time however, they were perfect. Soft and chewy, sweet but not too sweet. They are wonderful, and I will make these over and over. Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Source: Quaker Oats by way of Bakingblonde's Weblog. Drop dough by r...

Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Pasta in a Tomato Cream Sauce. I'd also like to say that I've made this sauce without the cream/half and half and cheese and it's really good that way too. So if you're looking to cut back on fat and calories, just leave out the cream/half and half and cheese. It will still be very yummy! I also like to mix it up with the herbs I use. Tonight I used dried oregano and fresh sage. I loved the sage in it and I think next time I'll just use sage. Pasta in a Tomato Cream Sauce. Be do...

Kayte's Kitchen: Chicken Soup with Rice

http://kayteskitchen.blogspot.com/2009/10/chicken-soup-with-rice.html

Thursday, October 15, 2009. Chicken Soup with Rice. I decided to go ahead and cook the rice separately. I figured that way the rice would not soak up all the yummy broth. Chicken Soup with Rice. 2 tbsp olive oil. 1 onion, chopped. 1 clove garlic, minced. 2 carrots, peeled and cut into coins. 2 celery stalks, sliced. 4 cups chicken stock (I used homemade. You could definitely use store bought). 3 chicken thighs and 3 chicken legs, cooked and de. Boned (You could definitely use pre. 1 cup long grain rice.

Kayte's Kitchen: November 2008

http://kayteskitchen.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 8, 2008. First Time's a Charm. I think the one thing that really made me choose this recipe in the first place was the picture on the website. It looked exactly like what I wanted my chili to look like. And although mine came out looking a bit different, it ended up tasting exactly like I wanted my chili to taste. Which is what's really important, right? But it just proves the statement that we eat with our eyes :-) I'll link here to the original recipe here. Vegetarian Black Bean Chili.

But type my slightly. 1 15 oz can of chick peas, drained (reserve the liquid). 1-2 cloves of garlic. 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil. Juice of 1 lemon (I didn't happen to have any lemons today, so I left this out. Don't know how big of a deal it is. It tastes fine to me without it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Kayte's Kitchen: Beef Stew

http://kayteskitchen.blogspot.com/2010/02/so-incase-you-hadnt-heard-mid-atlantic.html

Monday, February 8, 2010. And I know that any recipe that she has endorsed is going to be a good one. This will, from now on, be my go to Beef Stew recipe. I plan on playing around with a little to make it more broth-y. The potatoes and beef soaked up most of the liquid, and the stew was amazingly flavorful, but I would have preferred more broth. I will link to the recipe on. But I will also post my slightly adapted version below. Chelle originally found this recipe on. Salt and ground pepper. Reduce hea...
