Running The Race

A runner’s journal. The Power of a Group. March 21st, 2012. One of the things I have always liked about running is the singularity of the sport. If I want to go run, I don’t have to find a partner or make a tee time. I can walk out the front door and run. Last year I started working the training programs at the local Fleet Feet. Store I have enjoyed running with a group and encouraging and coaching them. This morning I ran with a group that I knew would push me. It was great. January 9th, 2012. May 1st, ...

A runner’s journal. Archive for the 'Goals' Category. Looking Back at 2007. Monday, December 31st, 2007. 2007 was an interesting year. I “ran” or should I say participated in three marathons: Country Music, Chicago, and Rocket City. I strained a tendon in my foot that forced me to take 2 weeks off in February but also pushed me to spend time in the pool. Consequently, I did my first tri in May. Total miles: 2,009. Average monthly mileage: 167. Average weekly mileage: 38.6. Off to the Races. One thing tha...

Here is the daily damage report…. 12 miles on the treadmill at the Y. 20 miles – It was 65 degrees when I started at 4 am. It was worth getting up early. Was still slow but my time was 15 minutes faster that two weeks ago. There is still hope for the Fall. Posted in Daily Run.

Michele's Training: Chattanooga Waterfront Race Report

http://micheletraining.blogspot.com/2007/07/chattanooga-waterfront-race-report.html

Monday, July 16, 2007. Chattanooga Waterfront Race Report. Made the drive down to Chattanooga Saturday and got checked into my hotel room. I enjoyed some quite time after picking up my packet and then met Lana. And her family for dinner. I tried to get to bed early but with the time change it was really hard. 4:45am eastern time came really early. There was a delay getting the race started but finally it was underway. I was number 411 so it took about 20 minutes before I got in the water. I came down the...

Tuesday, May 18, 2010. I am so far behind on my blog that there is no way I can post about everything I have been up to for the past week. So here are some highlights. The Plan got crazy in week 2 and had a 3.5 hour ride on a TUESDAY? I managed to get in 2 hours on the trainer. Couldn't take it any longer. Michele's Training: Let the Training Begin

http://micheletraining.blogspot.com/2010/05/let-training-begin.html

Monday, May 03, 2010. Let the Training Begin. Today is the first day of training for Ironman Louisville. Problem is I am still fighting with my plantar fasciitis. So instead of the 8 miles of running my plan called for I went to the Rec Center and did 12 miles on the ellipical. No, it is not the same but better then nothing I guess. I have made another doctor's appointment for next week. I hope he has some ideas that will get me back to running soon! Monday, May 03, 2010 6:32:00 PM. Tom King Half Marathon.

Thursday, August 15, 2013. 2nd Run: "2 a Day Wednesday". My 2nd run was with the former "C25'ers" soon to be half marathoners at The Middle Half. Duties. Needless to say, they set the bar high with decorating it a bit. They're UT fans so you can imagine. Very cool! Vicki who works in the beer industry brought a pick up truck full of beer to give away! FREE BEER after an NRC run! I'm not a beer drinker but I was blown away with what all they brought. So very cool! Friday, P90X ab ripper, stretching. Monum...

Twenty Six Down: May 2010

http://fivedown.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 09, 2010. Ragnar Relay - LA 2010. It has been just over two weeks since I ran this incredibly fun event and I thought I'd better get it down on blog "paper" before the specific become any fuzzier. The journey to this race started a long time ago. I'd read blog accounts of others that have done similar races, like Hood to Coast, and they always sounded like a lot of good fun. I received a flyer. I immediately emailed her an offered myself to the team if they had any openings. Her initial.

Twenty Six Down: June 2011

http://fivedown.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 18, 2011. The Last Long Run, Once Again. I've been here at least 20 times before. This weekend was the last long run, a 20 miler this time around, before heading for the Missoula Marathon. This week it was back to the hill repeats. This time the plan was 6. My quads were a bit tired from the trail race but I made it through the 6 repeats. My times were a bit slower this week from 1:38 to 1:41. Still pretty consistent I think. Taper time, once again! David Hansford – Out and About with my Camera

Out and About with my Camera. Written by David in Landscape. Asymp; 0 Comments. This is going back a while as this photograph was taken ten years ago in Normandy. Flat landscapes are not normally my thing but in this instance I spotted the scene whilst walking before breakfast whilst we were staying near Bayeux. I took just one shot, hearing that load distinctive sound as the shutter fired. That was all that was needed. I was using my Canon 1DS Mk3 with the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens set at its widest setting.
