Thursday, August 29, 2013. First Day of School 2013. This year, the first day of school was a first of a lot of things for us. Brylie started 1st grade! This was definitely more difficult for me than for him. He has been looking forward to this for a long time! He has a brand new teacher out of school and he is in the PM class so he can come home with his sister. He, like Brylie, will do just fine in school! He already reads very well and can count like a champ and is even doing math. So the wait began.

Tuesday, February 28, 2012. So we have been wanting to make a dining room table for a long time now and this particular one because you can make benches to go with it. Well, we did it! Brad was kind enough to let me do most of the work (break the drill bits by the handful, etc). I dare say that if he would have done more of the work, it would have turned out better still. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Sautéed Komatsuna with Basil. I got some komatsuna in my CSA veggies today. It is soooooo delicious prepared this way! The instructions are from a blog called Chubby Bunny Recipes. Last time I made it, I ate the whole pan myself, on top of some brown rice. I was in heaven! Komatsuna is a typical Japanese leafy vegetable. It is often called Japanese Mustard Spinach in the. Supermarkets. Young leaves, stalks and flower shoots are used in salad and stir-fry. 2 tsp olive oil.
