The Vow | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/the-vow
Me in a Nutshell. June 4, 2013. August 27, 2013. Ico and Patty May 16, 2013. As he spoke his dreams for our future, I felt like I was being swept away- I was having my own encounters with God. His prophetic words released my own dreams. There was no doubt in my mind that these things will come to pass. Today, two weeks later I reflect on these divine events we came back to a reality that we didn’t really forget- but now we have to see with different set of eyes. It’s going to be an exciting lifetime ahead.
GO and GET it! | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/go-and-get-it
Me in a Nutshell. GO and GET it! March 6, 2012. March 6, 2012. I just really feel the urgency to write these all down, while it’s still burning in my heart- and while it’s all fresh in my memory. She’s been one of our few friends when we first started Delight. Here in Cambodia back in 2008, thanks to two of our beautiful Filipina friends😉 who connected us with her. And this Singaporean lady has been one of our biggest givers since! So we knew that this encounter would be another inspiring experience.
I Won’t Wish The Moments Away | Patricia's Desk

Me in a Nutshell. I Won’t Wish The Moments Away. June 30, 2014. March 5, 2016. Everyday I see your face make new expressions,. You stick out your tongue and stare at me with your big charming eyes. And even though you cry a whole lot and your face turns red in anger,. I won’t wish these moments away. Your arms and legs are getting stronger everyday,. Jerking in all directions. Even though you pull my hair and kick me in excitement,. I won’t wish these moments away. I won’t wish these moments away. 8220;O...
A Glimpse of HOPE | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2013/11/29/a-glimpse-of-hope-by-ico
Me in a Nutshell. A Glimpse of HOPE. November 29, 2013. February 15, 2014. A guest post from Sotico Pagulayan III. Ico writes about Climate Change and his experience going around the different provinces monitoring agricultural projects. This speaks highly of what Cambodia needs in this time and season. Photo courtesy of CHAD Cambodia. But last week she said that her rice farm was preserved from the flooding. The water only lasted for two weeks and that her rice crops recovered but she lost almost 30 ...

https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/me-in-a-nutshell
Me in a Nutshell. Me in a Nutshell. Thank you for visiting my blog.🙂. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember…. I used to own a Friendster blog (yes social networks existed even before Facebook). I also had Multiply, Blogger, and finally in 2011 I decided to make WordPress my blog’s permanent home. I love to write and reflect. To remind myself of simple truths about faith, love and life. And I honestly believe that once you’re firmly grounded on these things, you won’t be eas...I also write just...
To Love Change | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/to-love-change
Me in a Nutshell. July 12, 2012. October 6, 2012. Honestly I’m not a big fan of change. Especially unexpected, sudden changes. I know “it’s the only thing in the world that’s constant”, but still- I’ll never get used to it. I’m the type of person who values routines. And if change should come- let them come slowly, and with a big tab on the side describing the whole purpose for it. Today I encountered changes that reminded me that it still exists, and I’m still not used to it. The Life of Job. You are co...
Busting those Pregnancy Myths | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/busting-those-pregnancy-myths
Me in a Nutshell. Busting those Pregnancy Myths. October 24, 2013. October 24, 2013. I’m slowly easing into my mid-second trimester and these past days I’ve been feeling “normal” again! Now that I’m already sporting a bump (and slowly gaining too! So here I’m writing down some of the amusing myths I’ve heard so far…. Myth # 1: Don’t drink dark drinks or your baby will turn out to be dark. In contrast, drink milk so your baby’s skin will turn out white. Or have regular interaction with...Exercise, especia...
The Life of Job | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2012/07/10/the-life-of-job
Me in a Nutshell. The Life of Job. July 10, 2012. July 10, 2012. My iTunes was on shuffle mode and accidentally played my Audio Bible. “Job chapter 1,” the deep voice announced. I was surprised, especially after listening to totally unrelated songs…. I’m sure none of us has ever come close to a tragedy like that. But even how insignificant our present troubles are compared to what Job experienced, there are still so much to learn from his life of devotion. Job did not waver until the end. I know it’...
“Our” first Birthday | Patricia's Desk
https://trishthinks.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/our-first-birthday
Me in a Nutshell. 8220;Our” first Birthday. April 1, 2015. March 5, 2016. My reflection this year is totally far from my usual birthday musings. More than anything, my life revolves around my family, especially our first son. As I look at his life so far, one full year of memories- the joy, the stress, the laughter, the difficulties all packed in that one year of his existence, I can’t help but feel worried and excited at the same time. He has a long way to go. I Won’t Wish The Moments Away. Fill in your...

Thursday, July 10, 2008. It has been too long to keep counting the days. Dear Friends and Family-. I would like to apoligize for everyone who has been entering my blog to read about my stories because it has been a very long time since I have taken the opportunity to write. The following weekend was relaxing with visits with friends and family. Saturday ...

Sunday, February 14, 2010. A Month of Memories. One characteristic that I often respect in others is their ability to make memories - to create special moments with friends and family and then to cherish them. My problem is, I always seem to have misplaced my camera somewhere and have to rely on the memory making of others! Such was the case at several special events we've had lately, and now that I've borrowed the pictures from friends, I thought I would share them with you. Last month meatballs were on...

I am a little overwhelmed and extremely grateful for all the people I've met, the things I've learned and the time that I had here. I have a few days to clean, pack, wrap up, give away, reminisce, and plan the next steps in my journey home. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Friday, April 23, 2010. Multiethnic Camp- We need your help! Emily in burkina faso. My adventures in the peace corps. I am typing this from the comforts of home in upstate New York! And I'm no longer a Peace Corps Volunteer - I'm officially a Returned PCV. Last week, after completing a lot of paperwork, the 7 of us leaving on the 16th had our "pinning ceremony" with the Country Director and Peace Corps office staff. The group of PCVs COSing. Me with the Country Director, Jill. That night, we flew out of Ouagadougou! Two PCVs (or I guess Returned PCVs now! I speak ...
Emily in Cambodia | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. Lee hai, Cambodia. March 11, 2011. I’ve been helping to organize a two-day meeting in Takeo province with all the farmers from the SRFI project. Part of that involved a business skills workshop, and guess who got to choose the topics, make up the presentation, and run the thing? Anecdote: We spent the night in a guesthouse in Takeo. Since Laura and Corinne were here, we splurged – I got a VIP room and I didn’t even have to share it. The best part? Be excited once I’...
Emily in Canada
Sunday, December 13, 2009. When I was searching for work in Peterborough, I was offered two jobs practically simultaneously. In my great wisdom, I decided to work both of them, and I have somehow managed to keep things together for the last 3.5 months, but now fear that I am quickly unraveling (just in time for Christmas). I thought I would share a snippet of conversation I had last night while cutting bread for a couple of buffets. It went something like this:. Ambidexterous," I said. Oh, for like what?

emilyincanterbury | Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. ~Emerson
Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. Emerson. The Magic Never Ends. July 12, 2012. So here it is! I couldn’t help but tear up when we said goodbye that night, but everyone promised to meet Tricia, Laura, and I then next morning to send us off to London in our taxi. June 14th was the day I left Canterbury, and everyone showed up to say goodbye. I felt like I was just going on another trip and would be back soon enough. I really hope that I ...
Emily's Blog | A Blog About My Thoughts on Transition
A Blog About My Thoughts on Transition. October 15, 2014 • 5:38 am. Anything and Everything… Ambiguously! I am Emily. But at the same time there’s so much else going on in that head of mine. I’m not sure that one lifetime is enough to get it all sorted out! My friend visited from out of town last week. It was great to have a kindred spirit around for a little while even if he doesn’t fully understand who I am yet (how could he when I don’t even understand me yet! Filed under: Gender Identity. I’ll ...

Emily in [West] Central, America. The Life and Times of serving with The Porch. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Some friends of mine do some cool writing things over at Rock and Sling. One of them asked me to write a guest post for their Writer's Ink series. Here's that post, about my "first, or maybe my second, tattoo." Check it out. Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
