Anything and Everything… Ambiguously! | Emily's Blog
https://emilyincarnate.wordpress.com/2014/10/15/dot-dot-dot
A Blog About My Thoughts on Transition. October 15, 2014 • 5:38 am. Anything and Everything… Ambiguously! I am Emily. But at the same time there’s so much else going on in that head of mine. I’m not sure that one lifetime is enough to get it all sorted out! My friend visited from out of town last week. It was great to have a kindred spirit around for a little while even if he doesn’t fully understand who I am yet (how could he when I don’t even understand me yet! Filed under: Gender Identity. A Blog About My Thoughts on Transition. February 7, 2012 • 5:21 am. Progress and then BAM! Well, not quite all uppercase bam, but it makes for a more dramatic title, so why not. All of a sudden tonight I was hit by a really heavy bout of questioning and doubt. Is this really right? Can’t I just ignore this? For some reason, the mantra of the Heart Sutra always helps me get through periods of doubt. “. Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā.”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
Back! Time for Business. | Emily's Blog
https://emilyincarnate.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/back-time-for-business
A Blog About My Thoughts on Transition. February 5, 2012 • 9:52 pm. I can’t keep flopping back and forth. I back off from transitioning but then a week, month, or more later I’m always back where I started. This isn’t going away. It’s been there since I was a child and will always be part of who I am. Filed under: Gender Identity. February 6, 2012 at 2:34 am. Hmmm, let’s see. How is your facial hair removal going? Are you on hormones? What would your employer think? Have you talked to any colleagues?

Bulgaria Blog
Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Last Days in Bulgaria. The last days of my Peace Corps service are rapidly passing. I am a little overwhelmed and extremely grateful for all the people I've met, the things I've learned and the time that I had here. I have a few days to clean, pack, wrap up, give away, reminisce, and plan the next steps in my journey home. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Friday, April 23, 2010. Multiethnic Camp- We need your help! Https:/ www.peacecorps.gov/index.cfm? Never doubt that a small group o...
emily in burkina faso
Emily in burkina faso. My adventures in the peace corps. I am typing this from the comforts of home in upstate New York! And I'm no longer a Peace Corps Volunteer - I'm officially a Returned PCV. Last week, after completing a lot of paperwork, the 7 of us leaving on the 16th had our "pinning ceremony" with the Country Director and Peace Corps office staff. The group of PCVs COSing. Me with the Country Director, Jill. That night, we flew out of Ouagadougou! Two PCVs (or I guess Returned PCVs now! I speak ...
Emily in Cambodia | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. Lee hai, Cambodia. March 11, 2011. I’ve been helping to organize a two-day meeting in Takeo province with all the farmers from the SRFI project. Part of that involved a business skills workshop, and guess who got to choose the topics, make up the presentation, and run the thing? Anecdote: We spent the night in a guesthouse in Takeo. Since Laura and Corinne were here, we splurged – I got a VIP room and I didn’t even have to share it. The best part? Be excited once I’...
Emily in Canada
Sunday, December 13, 2009. When I was searching for work in Peterborough, I was offered two jobs practically simultaneously. In my great wisdom, I decided to work both of them, and I have somehow managed to keep things together for the last 3.5 months, but now fear that I am quickly unraveling (just in time for Christmas). I thought I would share a snippet of conversation I had last night while cutting bread for a couple of buffets. It went something like this:. Ambidexterous," I said. Oh, for like what?

emilyincanterbury | Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. ~Emerson
Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. Emerson. The Magic Never Ends. July 12, 2012. So here it is! I couldn’t help but tear up when we said goodbye that night, but everyone promised to meet Tricia, Laura, and I then next morning to send us off to London in our taxi. June 14th was the day I left Canterbury, and everyone showed up to say goodbye. I felt like I was just going on another trip and would be back soon enough. I really hope that I ...

Un año de aventuras. Chronicles of a year abroad in Chile and Spain. March 29, 2012. Italia Here We Come! First of all, this is a momentous occasion. Why? Because I am updating my blog two days in a row! Nope, neither did I. But the reason for this blog post: I am going to Italy tomorrow! I certainly was smokin' hot! Currently planning on heading back to the Colosseum. Will also be hitting up the Vatican again. I have to look at Michelangelo's art AGAIN? March 28, 2012. After a month of traveling I final...
