Thursday, September 3, 2009. Blog Post 2: Web 2.0 Video. A part of his statement of purpose he made clear that he knew his audience even without knowing who would all see the video. He used diffent media to cover a wide range of audience members; he had music and pictures for younger audience members to be entertained, he used words and writing in a way that didn't seem like he was giving a power point. In a communication strategy there are three key elements: ethos, pathos. Posted by Kayla Powell. Their...

Thursday, October 29, 2009. WP2: Culltural and Context Analysis. The two figures in this comic are a man named Jerry and the Lord. The comic creator is named Jerry so it would not be a stretch to believe that the man in the comic is in fact the author himself. In the comic Jerry cannot sleep because he feels that "safety" is unnatainable because of the gaseous star called the Sun. And what was it exactly that God said to make Jerry react in this way? Gets to go to Heaven? Posted by Kayla Powell.

Thursday, October 22, 2009. The photo I have chosen was taken in Rwanda under the program “ Through the Eyes of Children”. I believe the argument trying to be made here is that Dominique. The history of Rwanda begins with Tutsi. And the Hutu. The Tutsi, a tall cattle-rearing people, infiltrate the area and win dominance. Like any repressed people, the Hutu. Under the rule of Habyarimina; because of this, extremist supporters formed groups, Interhamwe, to rid Rwanda once and for all of their "infestation"...

Sunday, October 4, 2009. Blog Post 11: WP1: Statement of Purpose. They do not want to see the ground littered with bodies of young children. These drastic measures will cause people to shy away from your cause. The history of Rwanda is a common one. The invasion of the Germans and then the Belgiums, penning two races of people against each other created a deep inward hatred towards each other; two races of people occupying one country that should have lived in peace, together. The Tutsi.

Monday, September 14, 2009. Blog post number 5. Right off the bat of the video “Trying to Find a Balance” by Atmosphere there is a unique style, that is portrayed throughout the whole video. Every so often the screen will go to somewhat hazel and there will be scratches and some graffiti across the screen. This effect added to old warehouse and images of the streets add to the ethos he is trying to get across the viewer. His dress and attire also conveys the type of style that he is trying to get across.

The sculpture could relate to many different people around the world such as those who have been a part of the violence, those who have witnessed it and those who know of someone or have relation to a woman being part of the violence. ENGLISH 151: Rhetoric as Argument. Joey Laughlin (Spring 2010). Monday, April 26, 2010. Dear Variable Wedge,. You change, shift, and fluctuate through the passing of time. While many simplify you into a simple tool: one of six elementary instruments. Conceived by man, in my eyes you serve a greater purpose. As your first step, I notice your form: a wedge. Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Humans take things for granted. It's just the way we are. People don't really appreciate their health until they get sick. Teenagers don't appreciate their privileges until they get grounded. And too often, we don't appreciate the family and friends around us until they're gone. Fortunately things have changed. Slavery no longer exists. Women have equal rights as men. And for the most part, racism and bigotry is declining here in the United States. But worldwide, the problem h...

Thursday, November 12, 2009. When I write, I am not the greatest at looking at something and then try to gather what that said thing is trying to tell you. I believe that if the author/artist wanted you to know something they should come out with it instead of me trying to find it. With that being said, it easy to gather that this project might begin with a bumpy start. And a new age of comic has risen." That way my audience only had to focus on one specific comic rather than all. Comics as a whole.

Sunday, December 13, 2009. The most notable change that I made lies in the order of the paragraphs.
