The Fussycutter

Friday, November 25, 2016. Michael Hampton at Nido's photo by Phiona Hamilton. I haven't posted here for so long. To be quite honest, I became frustrated with how hard it was to move things around on my posts. So I looked for greener grass and alas, the grass was brown! So I am back! And I want to talk about the renewed passion I have for spinning! I went to see my friend, Michael Hampton Speak at Nido's. I ordered a new wheel! It is an Ashford Joy and it looks like this. I will post a photo when mine ar...

Friday, February 14, 2014. We are having a snow day! 10,000 Words Celebration! And we were planning to distribute the pink cupcakes with sprinkles to all of our favorite people sporting our heart shaped sunglasses! Will it be the same the Monday after? And it's a boy! Ok, next, my Kaffe Fassett scrap quilt came back from the long arm quilters at Alewives. Catnap by Lizzy House. Heather Ross Briar Rose. Lizzy House Castle Peeps. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Fussycutter: December 2013

http://fussycutter.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 30, 2013. Well, I thought my only New Year's resolution was going to be to drop 10 pounds, but my friend, Sharon has encouraged me to add blogging to my list. She recently twittered about my Fussycutter blog, which is embarrassing since I haven't written anything for 6 months! So here I am, ready to add in the new creations I have been working on during this holiday season. The first creation pales next to its recipient-the amazingly gorgeous Evelyn DiNicola! Ok must stop writing now so ...

The Fussycutter: July 2013

http://fussycutter.blogspot.com/2013/07/july-2013.html

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. First, I fixed some handles that were not initially sewed up properly on the Anna Maria Horner Multi-Task Bag. I love Etsuko Furyara's birds and polka dots! I finished Amy Butler's Sunday Sling. I changed the handles a bit because I tend to carry large loads and I thought the ties on the top might hurt my shoulder blades. It is fun and colorful for hot summer days! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I have been so inspired by reading blogs by. Film in the Fridge,. The “it...

The Fussycutter: March 2013

http://fussycutter.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 24, 2013. Old Candide Patterns and Quince and Company. I have been feeling rather nostalgic about my old days raising sheep, dying my own fleece with roots and berries and spinning away. Oh, those sweaters were ugly, heavy and smelly! Tuesday, March 12, 2013. I love typewriters.who doesn't? The machine that makes our words look as though we could all be award winning authors? The machine that makes the worst penmanship readable? Currently, I am sporting my Melody Miller gel skin on my Mac.

As Simple As It Comes! I enjoy many things, one of which is knitting. I teach Kindergarten, live on an island with my wonderful family and enjoy being outside, working in my flower gardens and writing whenever I can. I enjoy learning new things and making connections with others. For me learning is inspired by ideas and a variety of experiences. I look forward to learning more about the craft of knitting and crocheting from others. Thursday, December 26, 2013. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I couldn...

AlewivesGirl: Wall of minis

http://alewivesgirl.blogspot.com/2014/07/wall-of-minis.html

Tuesday, July 8, 2014. We are having way too much fun here this summer. Most days, you will find us furiously stitching mini quilts at the shop. I've had this cockamamie idea for a while now to do a "wall of minis" in our booth at Maine Quilts. Which is coming right up in a couple of weeks. We will have a large display of small quilts taking up a significant portion of our display space. If you aren't going to the show, we've got lots of minis to show you at the shop. From flying geese to teeny tiny pears.

AlewivesGirl: January 2014

http://alewivesgirl.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 16, 2014. Big sale starts Saturday! Pam and I gave the classroom what I like to call an "extreme makeover" the other day in anticipation of our giant clearance sale that starts this Saturday. We've schlepped a lot of fabrics, etc. downstairs to turn the classroom into a sale-room, and there's lots of great stuff down there at 40% off. Therefore, 40% off. Out with the old and in with the new (and there is so. much. new. I will be back again soon. we've got lots to talk about. We went to ...

AlewivesGirl: March 2014

http://alewivesgirl.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. We're kinda in love with this quilt. More pictures to follow soon, but we need to bind this one and wrastle it outside so we can get a good photo of the whole thing (it's a queen size! Custom quilted by our own Tammy. I love the ruler work she did on this one. She knew there was no way (NO way) she was doing some ol' pantograph design on this looker. We were so pleased when Julie (the creative mind behind Jaybird Quilts) mentioned us on her blog. Makes us twinkle a little). Is lo...

Friday, January 3, 2014. Finally sewing with Chicopee. I had one more quilt finish in 2013. This might be my favorite of the year! Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt, black yarn dyed Essex, and the Arkansas Crossroad block work together so nicely don't they? I had the hardest time deciding on the right pattern, but I think I found it. Here are a couple pictures I took a couple weeks ago after quilting, I will try to get some finished ones soon! Hope you had a joyous Christmas and wonderful start to the New Year!

Monday, August 3, 2015. Great article. " Unless you are ghosting to escape an abusive relationship in which you are fearing for your safety, ghosting is an act of cowardice.". Thursday, August 8, 2013. Yeah, it's been a WHILE. Lost my quilting mojo for the last 12 months to an unforeseen DIVORCE. Life took a huge crap on me, but I've finally learned how to pull myself up and get on with it. I AM starting to get my creative mind back in gear. Here are a few photos from the last time i was able to sew-.

Tales of the Meandering Stitcher. Monday, April 6, 2015. So I figure a year later its still there.its not going anywhere. I used all outdoor and home dec fabric from my fabric stash so this project didn't cost me any money! For the pillows instead of purchasing outdoor inserts I used very little filling and actually filled them mostly with shopping bags! I enjoyed my afternoon outside reading a book on this lovely 72 degree day! Raise Hell and Change the World! Anyways. My cross stitch is now finished...
