Grow Cook. Eat. Share. Gluten Free Cooking, Organic Gardening, Health and Wellness, Family Friendly Living. Fluffy Kefir, Oat and Almond Flour Pancakes. April 11, 2015. Middot; by Caran. Breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning has lately consisted of these pancakes and whatever else we can find in the fridge or pantry to add to the meal. These gluten free pancakes are fluffy, golden and delicious, much like the whole wheat pancakes we were accustomed to eating as kids. Kefir, Oat and Almond Flour Pancakes.

Grow Cook. Eat. Share. Gluten Free Cooking, Organic Gardening, Health and Wellness, Family Friendly Living. Kefir: Creating a Living Food. May 24, 2015. Middot; by Caran. It’s been a crazy couple of months. Thank you, my friends, for bearing with me…. What is milk kefir? Milk kefir is similar to yogurt, in that it is a fermented milk product made with the help of beneficial bacteria. Kefir differs from yogurt though, because it is made from reusable kefir ‘grains’ (which aren’t actu...I love kefir mixed ...

This is what we’ve been up to at our farm over the last couple of weeks. The weather on Canada’s west coast has been tantalizing for the gardener in me! I’ve been obsessing over our garden for the last couple of months. We also added about twenty non-descript shallot bulbs. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). 20 Great Gif...

Harvesting my bamboo | gardeningvix's Blog

https://gardeningvix.wordpress.com/2014/04/16/harvesting-my-bamboo

Happy spring →. April 16, 2014. I grow bamboo in my garden, I love the sound of the wind through it’s leaves and the bright green stalks in the sunshine it’s a great plant to have – plus it’s extremely useful. Maybe I take this ‘grow your own’ thing too far, but I wonder what the carbon foot print of the humble garden cane is? I could go out and buy some brittle canes from the garden centre, but it’s so much more fun to grow it yourself! Happy gardening my friend! This entry was posted in allotment.

Inside view of the nesting boxes and perches. Astro turf in nesting box. The chef and the waitress. Homemade Labneh →. Thank you...

Bluebells and purple sprouting broccoli flowers. May I plant out yet? Some lovely news…. May 3, 2014. I haven’t been as busy on here as usual, something I’m aiming to remedy I promise. But I thought I’d share a little bit of nice news with you if you don’t mind. Today my very first article was published in The Bolton News. They have given me a column each week to write about allotments and gardening and I’m so excited. It’s a brilliant opportunity and I’m so very thankful to them. May I plant out yet?

Into the Unknown | therookieallotmenteers

The best place to seek God is in a garden. You can dig for him there. (George Bernard Shaw). May 20, 2014. Sometimes on the allotment – for us rookies especially – it’s difficult to tell who is friend and what is foe. This was true this week, when giving the plot a thorough weeding, mowing and trimming, we came across several visitors we weren’t sure if to admire or to send packing! The first two were flowers – or should that be weeds? On safer ground, we were also able to admire more familiar favourites...

Agave nectar (for sweetening). Mix it all up in a blender. Thursday, May 21, 2009. 1/2 cup quinoa (boil, then simmer in 1 cup water). 3 small cloves garlic. Ghee, or cla...

Grow cook eat nyc. The kitchen table talk community. Meatless Monday- Quinoa Stuffed Peppers. May 30, 2011. Today I am featuring a truly delicioso recipe for quinoa stuffed peppers that I found while searching good old vegetariantimes.com. I am all about quinoa and have been using it more and more as my go to grain. Like most whole grains quinoa is packed with fiber, but what makes it superior to the rest is its protein content. It contains about 15g of protein per cup! 2 Tbs olive oil. 1 Tbs ground cumin.

Ginseng: Getting to the root. If there's one Asian herb that everyone has heard of, it's ginseng - Panax ginseng to give it it's full name. It's often thought of as a stimulant, although Ginseng is actually more sophisticated than that. In traditional Chinese herbology, we use it to strengthen digestion, improve lung function, reduce anxiety, and increase energy. Beet “noodles” with sausage & kale. A huge beet crop prompted us to invent a low calorie, vegetable alternative to pasta with a hearty sauce.

Our little (big) girl turned six yesterday. I can not believe that we now have a six year old! I've never been one to get too emotional on birthdays. I usually don't find them any more sentimental than any other day but for some reason I felt very emotional yesterday as I watched Sophie blow out the candles on her cake. Six is such a big age. I am constantly surprised at how independent and grown-up Sophie already is. She is no longer a little girl. Sob. Posted by Katie: Grow.Cook.Sew. For those who have...
