Welcome to our world. Saturday, September 18, 2010. Last weekend the Echols came for their first Hawkeye football game! They came to visit us last Thanksgiving right after Annabelle was born, but there was no game that weekend. Gran and Big Daddy came, too. but this was not their first Hawkeye game. :) The boys had been counting the days until their cousins' arrival! We all had a great time. the weather was nice (and gave our Lubbock family a taste of fall! Annabelle loves being outside!

Monday, December 21, 2009. We have been so busy this past month! I have been horrible about blogging the past several weeks. I honestly don't know where the time has gone! Here are a few things we have been up to. We had breakfast with Santa at the beginning of the month. This is an event held at the Fort Worth club every year that Jay's parents treat us to. A bit about me…. Summer Veg Soup with Pasta and Pesto. Every now and then I get a real craving for a soup like this, fresh with chunky vegetables and filling pasta, topped with dollops of pesto and Parmesan shavings. You can use whatever veg you fancy or you have in the fridge. Broad beans, asparagus, broccoli…. 1 banana shallot or a few small shallots, diced. 2 carrots, peeled and chopped into chunky slices. 1 stick of celery, sliced. 100g orzo or risoni pasta.
