A California Girl in Kansas, Part 2: Amber the Crier
http://acaliforniagirlinkansas.blogspot.com/2007/08/amber-is-challenged-by-english-language.html
Tuesday, August 21, 2007. So my addiction to Big Brother 8. Is pretty strong. Strong enough that I've actually spent a significant amount of time watching Big Brother After Dark. On Showtime, which basically amounts to watching other people play beer pong and whisper to each about strategy for hours on end. Labels: I Watch Too Much TV. Amber is a waste of time. i loved the segment on the cbs broadcast the other night where amber would say "what's the peanut gallery? August 22, 2007 at 7:47 AM.

He Still Uses AOL | A California Girl in Kansas
https://acaliforniagirlinkansas.wordpress.com/2007/10/29/he-still-uses-aol
A California Girl in Kansas. Proudly oversharing since 2004. He Still Uses AOL. October 29, 2007. I'd Drink to That. My dad is, well, kinda slow to catch on to the latest technological trends. For the past 10 years, his various computers have essentially existed only as very expensive games of solitaire. Recently, he has taken up email forwarding. Remember when people sent forwards ALL THE EFFING TIME? That’s my dad. Stuck in 1998. He also just learned to text message. Feed for this Entry. October 30, 20...

A California Girl in Kansas, Part 2: It's a Real Schmoozefest Around Here
http://acaliforniagirlinkansas.blogspot.com/2007/08/its-real-schmoozefest-around-here.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2007. It's a Real Schmoozefest Around Here. I've been nominated for (and thus apparently the winner of) a blogger schmooze award by Doc. Who claims I can drink him and The D. Under the table. His claims are correct. Maybe that should be the next blogger meet-up idea - see who can out-drink me. Hmmm. Nonetheless, I now have the privilige of nominating some other schmoozers. 5 of them, in fact. So here come the nominations. Envelopes please. And 3 o'clock am. August 28, 2007 at 4:00 PM.

A California Girl in Kansas, Part 2: A few kind of amazing things...
http://acaliforniagirlinkansas.blogspot.com/2007/08/few-kind-of-amazing-things.html
Sunday, August 19, 2007. A few kind of amazing things. 1 Did you know that bars in Kansas City, Mo. are open until 3 am? 2 I spent my belated birthday gift card to Sephora (thanks Big Sis) and got the worlds largest bottle of Marc Jacobs cucumber eau de toilette. It smells heavenly. 3 Because I've been rather culturally deprived, I spent some time at the Nelson-Atkins museum doing the audio tour thing and checking out the new Bloch building. It was really cool. Found you via docz place! And i think it wa...

everything nicole: I'm the Mother Who. . .
http://everythingnicole.blogspot.com/2006/02/im-mother-who.html
Saturday, February 11, 2006. I'm the Mother Who. . . Took my girl Gracie to a Valentine's Day Party in which:. I let a friend of a friend (who I had just met) take her and another little boy for a walk. I told people that my daughter is a little bit of a slut (most of her little friends are boys). I thought she had wandered into the kitchen, but had actually wandered outside toward the [fenced off] pool. I'm such a good momma. If there is such a thing as karma, I'm in trouble. xoxo. everything nicole: Like A Bad Dream
http://everythingnicole.blogspot.com/2006/02/like-bad-dream.html
Thursday, February 23, 2006. Like A Bad Dream. Randy leaves for work at 4:30 in the morning. I'm usually barely conscience when he leaves. For some reason this morning, I actually woke up enough to hear GracieGirl wake up with him. Here's what I heard:. He puts her back to bed. The front door opens and his truck starts at exactly the same time. Posted by nicole @ 2/23/2006 07:24:00 AM. That is very scary! Thank God you were awake enough. That is mother's instinct for you. Tomorrow is another day.
Good Reads | The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry by Kathleen Flinn | Twentieth Street
http://blog.stephaniecourt.com/2010/09/book-reveiw-sharper-your-knife-less-you.html
Good Reads The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry by Kathleen Flinn. I won a copy of this book in a contest hosted by Slice of Pink. It was delivered the day before I left for Hawaii. I took it along expecting a light, easy read perfect for lounging by the beach. I did not. Expect to get so completely immersed that I would finish the book three days into my trip! This summer, while studying for the bar, my roommate and I had almost daily conversations that went something like this:. Considering the cop...

Fulfilling my Namesake: Claiming Victory
Fulfilling my Namesake: Claiming Victory. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Emerging defeated from Tuesday morning, I decided to stop at the library on my way home from work. I knew the book I was going to check out: the John Updike classic of "Rabbit, Run." I remembered reading it in my freshman year of college and I felt like I could really relate to it on this particular day. Rabbits are mutating into men, and I am not Rabbit Angstrom. Slice of Pie
Sunday, August 18, 2013. I know I have been a terrible blogger as of late. I think it means it is time to move on from this space. But a quick update, before I go. Last we met, I was thinking of going to the far away clinic to give it one more fresh cycle try. Well, that didn't happen. After reviewing the cost, even with our amazing full-coverage insurance, it would have been 15-20k out of pocket. Ouch, right? And with that, our family is complete. My fertility journey is over. Its been quite the...And l...

Slice of Pi: homeschool journal
Slice of Pi: homeschool journal. Thursday, April 21, 2011. For nature Wednesday a few weeks ago, we went to the Animal Shelter where our dogaphobic little girl fell in love with a. Friendly little handicapped puppy. It had a broken leg, and was being cared for by the staff there. Adrie begged and begged for days to take that puppy home. I still haven't heard the end of it. Like how those chicks will grow up to lay eggs in 6-8 weeks! They brought out a package of marshmallow Peeps for each of my kids!

A Slice of Pineapple
A Slice of Pineapple. Thursday, October 11, 2012. My Last Lecture: Part 2. The Things We Learn Inside and Outside of School. I laughed as I wrote this second part of my lecture because I remember hating some of these subjects so much for so many different reasons. But that hate must have turned to appreciation because I got my degree in Academic Studies with my minor being in Language Arts. And, then I received my certification in Elementary Education. Enjoy…. A Slice of Price
A Slice of Price. Friday, April 12, 2013. I made a birthday cake to have on Aubrey's birthday, and she was in charge of decorating it with sprinkles. The cake was, of course, egg free so sweet Cade could have some (since he is allergic to eggs). It turned out delicious! We all sang to Aubrey and she loved being sang to - we also made sure she asked for a wish. I guess she didn't get the memo about keeping the wish to yourself. She said she wished for hugs. We made sure her wish came true! I ordered a die...
