Living the Agrarian Lifestyle in the Suburbs. March 17, 2009. There are some very good resources on the Internet to give you some ideas to assist in your transition (or if you are already living sustainably, you might also find some new ideas). 8211; a blog by J.D. Roth, noted by Money Magazine as most inspiring money blog, is a blog that I read regularly. With lots of ideas about frugal living, Mr. Roth also has a great article titled An Introduction to Homesteading. November 12, 2010 at 11:09 pm. 8230;...

The Traveler's Table: Mexican "Salsa de Tomatillo y Aguacate"- Avocada and Tomatillo Salsa

http://the-travelers-table.blogspot.com/2011/05/mexican-salsa-de-tomatillo-y-aguacate.html

Saturday, May 7, 2011. Mexican "Salsa de Tomatillo y Aguacate"- Avocada and Tomatillo Salsa. I recently purchased a food processor and can now make all kinds of things I was unable to make before. One of the first things I tried with my new food processor was this salsa. It was so easy and delicious. Store bought salsa is definitely a thing of the past! 6 tomatillos, husked and rinsed well. 1/2 white onion, chopped. 1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped. 1 large clove garlic, minced. 1 serrano chile, stem removed.

Suburban Homestead | Just another WordPress.com weblog

January 6, 2008, 10:12 am. Things are quiet at the start of the new year. The greens and garlic are still hanging on in the garden. We have been poring over seed catalogs and deciding what to plant in the spring. The bee equipment we ordered has started coming in. Now to assemble our hives and set them up! It’s funny to think that in a couple of months or so we will have a few thousand head of livestock in our own yard. It will be an interesting process, to be sure. The Year is Ending. I ordered the bees...

The Not-So Suburban Homestead Blog | Chronicles of a Gardening Family

The Not-So Suburban Homestead Blog. Chronicles of a Gardening Family. A New Back to Eden Garden! In Back to Eden. February 23, 2014. We finally got around to installing a Back to Eden garden at our new home, here in S.E. Oklahoma. We had purchased several sets of onions a few weeks back, and with the busyness of life, just haven’t been able to get them into the ground. Thankfully, we got it done, after lots of work, and the onions are ready to grow! Kittan was prowling around while we were working. :).

Suburban Homesteader - Too much rosemary, not enough thyme!

Too much rosemary, not enough thyme! How to Milk a Coconut. July 18, 2015. It’s been three and a half weeks since I began a strict autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet to address a few of my health problems. One of the staples that I was absolutely bummed about giving up was dairy. We have an amazing local farmers’ market vendor who sells the creamiest, non-homogenized whole milk with the cream sitting at the top of the gallon. Ohhhh, glorious dairy. Then I saw it…. Who knows, but I was going to. This girl...
