The Not-So Suburban Homestead Blog. Chronicles of a Gardening Family. This one is Nugget! Bronwyn seems to be the most timid out of the three. She falls asleep at the drop of a hat! And, last of all, comes Perky. This is Jaden’s and he has a story behind the name…. They are just getting used to their surroundings. We took them outside for a short ‘photo shoot’. =). Mr Pumpkin seed has sprouted and is growing at a rapid pace! Joel and Abby hard at work, potting plants. Large view of the garden. You are co...

The Not-So Suburban Homestead Blog. Chronicles of a Gardening Family. A New Back to Eden Garden! In Back to Eden. February 23, 2014. We finally got around to installing a Back to Eden garden at our new home, here in S.E. Oklahoma. We had purchased several sets of onions a few weeks back, and with the busyness of life, just haven’t been able to get them into the ground. Thankfully, we got it done, after lots of work, and the onions are ready to grow! Kittan was prowling around while we were working.🙂.

North of the Border: June 2015

Thursday, June 18, 2015. Happy Birthday, Dad / David! Today is a special day at our house, as we celebrate the birthday of our husband and Dad, David. We are so thankful to God for your servant leadership in our family, and at church. You are a great example of God's patience, and faithful love to His people. You have taught us how to truly love and care for others, to live frugally, to fix things with our hands, to work hard, and to give. no matter what. You are such a wonderful man! North of the Border: March 2015
http://kauttchronicles.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 23, 2015. March has been a jam-packed month already, and we are not through with it yet! Here are some pictures from some of the activities we've done this month. The month began with celebrating Abby's 25th birthday, in a nice way at home with family and our church small group. She wanted a chocolate chip cookie, so Phoebe obliged by making a giant one in the largest skillet we own. Caleb and three of his groomsmen. Some of Claudia's girls. Mom opens some of her birthday cards and gifts.

Wierdness in the garden, including mine. Blogs and Pages that I like. July 9, 2013. Spring has come and gone and now all of our gardens have transitioned to the summer stage. Here that means everything is starting to fill out their fruits and vegetables. I’ve harvested a few zucchinis and cucumbers and they are hopefully going to continue for quite a few more weeks. The broccoli, turnips and beets have all been harvested and pulled out of the garden. A Big Mortgage Lifter Tomato. Flood of June 2013.

A Girl's View : Sharing the richness of life's blessings. May 7, 2015. My morning: blogging, emails, youtube, journal, bible study; basically trying to be as creative as possible - which requires a coffee and a smoothie. Thank you for sharing! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Roses are a delicate expression of God's beauty. It is easier to serve God without a vision, easier to work for God. Without a call, because then you are not bothered by what God requires;. If you never realize the call of God.

A Girl's View : Sharing the richness of life's blessings. May 15, 2015. Merely a Christian 06. According to Lewis "Going back is the quickest way on.". Now, let me explain what he means. This is chapter five, and we are continuing our discussion of the Moral Law, and its Lawgiver. We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. Thank you for sharing! Basis” - Oswald Cham...

A Girl's View : Sharing the richness of life's blessings. May 4, 2015. Have you ever felt that way? Like a person dying of thirst, stuck in a wilderness, with no water in sight and no strength to make it to the next oasis? Sometimes in life we spend so much time and energy pouring out our lives into all kinds of things; good things, volunteer things, community things, family things, travel things, food things, busy things. But are they the best things we could be spending our time on? I am tired. My ...

Wierdness in the garden, including mine. Blogs and Pages that I like. June 13, 2013. The ground cherries taste like ground cherries. 8221; “Ground cherries, I decided to try them this year.” She then explained to me how my grandmother used to grow them every year and that you should never pick all of the fruit. That way there will be volunteer ground cherry plants returning every year. The other day, I was inspecting the plants and I found three small berries and one slightly larger one. Next post ».

Suburban Homestead | Just another WordPress.com weblog
January 6, 2008, 10:12 am. Things are quiet at the start of the new year. The greens and garlic are still hanging on in the garden. We have been poring over seed catalogs and deciding what to plant in the spring. The bee equipment we ordered has started coming in. Now to assemble our hives and set them up! It’s funny to think that in a couple of months or so we will have a few thousand head of livestock in our own yard. It will be an interesting process, to be sure. The Year is Ending. I ordered the bees...

Suburban Homesteader - Too much rosemary, not enough thyme!
Too much rosemary, not enough thyme! How to Milk a Coconut. July 18, 2015. It’s been three and a half weeks since I began a strict autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet to address a few of my health problems. One of the staples that I was absolutely bummed about giving up was dairy. We have an amazing local farmers’ market vendor who sells the creamiest, non-homogenized whole milk with the cream sitting at the top of the gallon. Ohhhh, glorious dairy. Then I saw it…. Who knows, but I was going to. This girl...
