Ghee - 2 table spoons. Wheat flour - 2 cups. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon. Ajwain(Omam) - 1 tea spoon. Cooking oil - 1 tea spoon.

Others (Upma, Noodles.). Sunday, July 10, 2011. Rava - 1 1/2 cups. Onion - 1 nos. Green chilies - 2 nos. Curry leaves - a few leaves. Lemon juince - 1 table spoon. Cooking oil - 2 - 3 table spoons. Mustard seeds - 1 table spoon. Black gram dal - 1 table spoon. Bengal gram dal - 1 table spoon. 1 Boil 2 cups of water and keep it covered. 2 Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, black gram dal and bengal gram dal. 5 Now add the boiling water to the rava and stir briskly. It should not form any lumps.

Saturday, November 20, 2010. Raw rice - 1cup. Boiled rice - 1 cup. Black Gram dal - 1/2cup. Fenugreek seeds - 1 tea spoon. 1 Wash and soak all the above ingredients for 4 hrs. 2 Grind into a thick paste add little water. 3 Add salt and mix thoroughly. 4 Keep it in a closed container for 6 -8 hrs(till the batter raises atleast 1 inch.). 5 Mix the batter and remove the bubbles. 1 Heat a non-stick pan. 2 Add a drop of water and spread it on the pan with a potato. 5 Keep the flame low.

Curry leaves - few leaves. Cooking oil - 2 table spoons. Mustard seeds - 1 table spoon. Black gram dal - 1 table spoon. Bengal gram dal - 1 table spoon. 1 Heat kadai and fry rava in it without oil till it turns colour slightly and remove it and keep separately. 2 Chop all the vegetables into small pieces.

Red chillies - 1 no. Curry leaves - a few leaves. 1 Wash and spread the rice and thoor dal together in a shady place and let it dry.

Asafoitida - 1 tea spoon. Curd - 1 cup. Green chilies - 2 - 3 nos. Ginger - 1 inch. Cooking oil - 2 table spoons. Mustard seeds - 1 table spoon. 1 Wash the dals and rice together, dry in a shaddy place and coarse powder it. 2 Soak the powder in water along with salt, asafoitida, curd, jeera and pepper for 5 - 6 hrs.

Saturday, February 4, 2012. Carrot Halwa (Gajar ka Halwa). Carrots - 3 cups. Milk - 1 cup. Sugar - 3/4 cup. Ghee - 2 table spoons. Cardamom powder - 1 tea spoon. Cashew nuts - 1 table spoon. 1 Wash, peel and grate carrots. 2 Heat milk and allow it to boil till it becomes half its quantity. 3 Add the carrots and sugar to the milk and bring it to boil. 4 After it starts to boil bring the flame to low and allow it to boil, stirring occasionally. 6 Heat ghee in a kadai and add finey chopped cashews and badams.

Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Fresh coconut - 2 cups (finely grated or desiccated). Desiccated coconut - 2 table spoons. Sugar or grated jaggery - 3/4 cup. Milk - 1/2 cup. Milk maid - 1 cup(This can be used instead of milk and sugar). Ghee - 2 table spoon. Cardamom powder - 1 pinch. 1 Heat a heavy bottom kadai, add ghee to it. 2 Add the grated coconut to the kadai and saute for a few minutes. 3 Add sugar and milk to the coconut and mix it thoroughly and keep the stove in low flame. Rice Pudding (Pal Payasam).
