Palestine National Orchestra video link. Day 16 – New Year’s Day in Rafidia →. January 1, 2011 · 9:28 pm. In just four days of Arabic lessons with Omayer (pronounced Ow-my-er) we have now finished the entire written alphabet (yes, all 80-some letters) and covered a very hefty number of vocabulary words. However, amidst all my seemingly rapid progress I can say that I have learned one thing that I will never forget:. The difference is very clear. And he repeated, Tayz yo. No, not quite, I said. Tayz.

January 1, 2011 · 10:32 pm. Day 16 – New Year’s Day in Rafidia. I’d love to actually become proficient in Arabic, even marginally so. It is such a hard language. The sounds and words just don’t stick in my head very well. There were some fancy boutiques (mixed in among the more typical shop front groceries and butchers) and even. Complete with dressed up waiters who show you to your table. It felt so much more like home, or Europe, without. One response to “. Day 16 – New Year’s Day in Rafidia. The Econo...

Palestine National Orchestra video link →. December 31, 2010 · 11:48 pm. Day 15 – Rebirth of the Palestine National Orchestra. I went to the Palestine National Orchestra concert in Ramallah tonight. And not just any concert–their first concert since 1948. But back to the orchestra concert! It was quite good for the most part, aside from a few tuning issues. They played. By Ligeti, Mozart’s. With Japanese-Palestinian soprano Mariam Tamari, and. Allegretto Pastorale for Oboe and Strings. Symphony No. 4.

View From My Windrow

View From My Windrow. Thoughts I had while waiting for the hay to dry. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Written for my 50th birthday, three years ago. Still salient). One could look in the mirror today. And wonder if he has loved enough. And in the right way. Regret his foolishness and his failures. Wonder what lies ahead. What the sum will amount to. But why engage in vanities? Should this moment be wasted on such things. As a puddle of fears? As soon as I lift my gaze from the immediate. And, come mealtime,.

The view from natural Florida. Photos from natural Florida…with stories that bring them to life. Wise Words Wednesday: Some favorite nature quotes by John Muir. John Muir was American’s most famous naturalist and conservationist. Some of his quotes are among the favorite nature quotes of all time. Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike. Observations and images in retirement. August 10, 2015. Lettie on Long Island. Dressed in my blue patent leather pumps with kitten heels and blue coat with its swingy hem and oversized buttons, I had boarded the LIRR at the Farmingdale station. Now the train was rocketing into the East River tunnel to its destination in New York City. I dug in my purse to check the ticket and letter. Did I have the right day? Did I have the right ticket? Did I have the subway token? 8212; David Brooks. At the concert hal...

Weimaraner Chronicles

Monday, July 02, 2007. Pat, the doggies, and I hit the trails this past weekend, and what a beautiful weekend it was. Aside from a couple porcupine quills (ahem. Lincoln) and a sprained ankle (me) a good time was had by all. We hiked in the Dry River trail about 5 miles to the junction with the Isolation Trail and found a great established camp site. Once we set up camp, we discovered that Luna REALLY liked the tent! The doggies were quite exhausted and made themselves right at home! Is that Cesar Millan?

Arrived in Denver, escorted by Uncle David to Boulder and Flatirons, then to Leadville (highest city in US at 10,200ft), to Camp Hale (site of 10th Mountain Division), and eventually to Glenwood Springs where we took a brief tour of the Hotel Colorado. Guided by Uncle David and Liza. Hot Springs Pool in Glenwood Springs.

The View from New Hampshire: Hiking Section

The View from New Hampshire: Hiking Section. This section of my blog will capture my outdoor adventures. Most of my adventures are hiking trips, but I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds. Most of my outdoor adventures take place in the mountains of New England, but I have been out west to Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon. I went on a 30-day NOLS North Cascades Mountaineering course during the summer of 2003. I was active in the NHOC at the University of New Hampshire while I was there. The des...
