The Blessing of the Fleet: Brunswick, Georgia – The Lens and Pen
http://thelensandpen.com/105
The Lens and Pen. The Blessing of the Fleet: Brunswick, Georgia. May 1, 2016. The blessing of fleets began as a European tradition. Coastal villages and towns held celebrations to encourage a healthy and abundant season of fishing. These festivals began in Southern European countries where Catholicism was the major religion. A priest was always present to perform the blessing after which food and merriment became the order of the day! We do it all so well in Coastal Georgia! Subscribe to my posts.

View From My Windrow
View From My Windrow. Thoughts I had while waiting for the hay to dry. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Written for my 50th birthday, three years ago. Still salient). One could look in the mirror today. And wonder if he has loved enough. And in the right way. Regret his foolishness and his failures. Wonder what lies ahead. What the sum will amount to. But why engage in vanities? Should this moment be wasted on such things. As a puddle of fears? As soon as I lift my gaze from the immediate. And, come mealtime,.

Weimaraner Chronicles
Monday, July 02, 2007. Pat, the doggies, and I hit the trails this past weekend, and what a beautiful weekend it was. Aside from a couple porcupine quills (ahem. Lincoln) and a sprained ankle (me) a good time was had by all. We hiked in the Dry River trail about 5 miles to the junction with the Isolation Trail and found a great established camp site. Once we set up camp, we discovered that Luna REALLY liked the tent! The doggies were quite exhausted and made themselves right at home! Is that Cesar Millan?
