Monday, June 22, 2009. Wash and Soak 3 cups of rice and 1 cup of urad dal in two seperate bowls. After 5 to 6 hrs grind into a fine paste and transfer to steel vessel. Keep oven in warm for 10 minutes and switch off the oven. Close the vessel with lid and place the vessel in oven and leave to ferment for 8hrs. The combo is great actually, but, the khichdi became a mess - I guess am not yet too familiar with various types of Sabudana - this one became rather gooey. Lessons learnt: Don't soak it - just wet it and let it remain for 2-3 hours. Solkadi was lovely, refreshing - thanks Nupur. Shankari - Yea.I hope better luck next time.

Rice Flour - 1 cup. Powdered Jaggery - 3/4 cup. Coconut pieces - a handful (dimensions of 3 mm X 3 mm X 1 cm) - Thenga pallu - pallu is teeth - so coconut should be cut in shape of human teeth! I ate this version of cabbage and peas in my friend's house and i like it. Now the way i look at cabbage has changed. Cabbage with baby peas. 1/2 of medium cabbage, chopped. 1 cup frozen baby peas or boiled peas. 3,4 green chillies slit lenghtwise. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. Salt and redchilli powder.
