I've been too chicken to buy one since last year I was cursed with a puny watermelon jinx and I didn't get one all year. And I live in Texas. I got about 5 crappy watermelons before I gave up. Cooking with the Kidlets: The Might Mango

http://www.cookingwiththekidlets.blogspot.com/2010/05/might-mango.html

Friday, May 21, 2010. Mangoes are stinkin' cheap right now. 2 for $0.88 at HEB yesterday. So I got a bunch. And they're fruit, so I figured they were healthy. But I had no idea how healthy until I did my little research for the day. Get this:. Low in calories and high in dietary fibre, mangoes are packed with vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. Recent studies suggest they are also powerful cancer-fighters. But that's just the chosen blurb. The rest of the article. Honey Lime Grilled Chicken Salad.

Cooking with the Kidlets: Oatmeal Doesn't Have to be Boring

http://www.cookingwiththekidlets.blogspot.com/2010/06/oatmeal-doesnt-have-to-be-boring.html

Thursday, June 3, 2010. Oatmeal Doesn't Have to be Boring. Anyhoo, onto why you should start fooling around with oatmeal. It's shown to lower cholesterol, fight diabetes, lower blood pressure, control your weight, and reduce the risk of certain types of cancer. If that's not enough, go to this list. And check out some more reasons as well as some great ideas for add-ins. And now for the recipes. Steel Cut Oats with Carmelized Onions and Ricotta. I'll be trying this one. June 3, 2010 at 2:26 PM.

And I live in Texas. I got about 5 crappy watermelons before I gave up. But this year, on my first melon, bam! I got a good one. So on to the perks of the watermelon. Besides being completely tasty (if you can pick a decent one! And super refreshing on a hot day, they have more health benefits than you probably know.

Cooking with the Kidlets: Strawberries

http://www.cookingwiththekidlets.blogspot.com/2010/06/strawberries.html

Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Everyone in my family loves strawberries. Who doesn't? They are the most popular fruit in the whole wide world. But this is a kidlet you haven't met yet. This is Pico. He loves strawberries. Really loves strawberries. He's a purist mostly when it comes to his love of fresh produce. Nothing fancy for him, but if you like fancy, check out some of these recipes. Strawberry Mango Jicama Salad. Summer Spinach and Strawberry Salad. 1 They're cheap right now. June 15, 2010 at 7:48 AM.

simondssays: update

http://simondssays.blogspot.com/2011/04/update.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. At one point in time i heard about a stay-at-home mom who made lots of money writing a blog about her kids, what she cooked for dinner, and the crafty things that she did in her free time. i thought that was a dream job. how hard could it be? I now know that if i got paid to write a blog, we would be broke. Here's what we have been doing instead of blogging:. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, counting down the days (20 or so) until our little man's arrival! This is our blog.

Saturday, July 31, 2010. For the first time since third grade, i can see better than the perfect eye. At my appointment this morning i was reading the 20/15 line already, and it should only get better from here. i never realized what i was missing out on all these years. everything is so crisp and clear, and colors are even brighter. i could go on about this for the rest of my life and probably will. everyone should check out. You will not be disappointed. Friday, July 16, 2010. Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Her first two weeks have been filled with much activity. at just 5 days old she enjoyed her first trip to starbucks with daddy. a few days later she braved the millenia mall, and it became clear that she will love shopping as much as her mom. on wednesday she spent 6 hours posed in boxes, bowls and suitcases for her first photoshoot, thanks to callahan photo. Sitting up for very extended periods of time. Eating just about everything. Reaching the 95th percentile in weight, but holding strong at the 25th for height. Sunday, June 5, 2011. Thursday, June 2, 2011. Two weeks and one day ago, Finnley Jameson Simonds was born. It is crazy how quickly the first 15 days of his life have flown by! We are so grateful for wonderful friends and family who have brought us meals, helped out with Janie, shared words of encouragement and dropped by to keep me company. I am sure that the transition would have been much harder without all of your help, so thank you! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Orlando, florida, United States.
