Welcome to the Town of Ethan's web site! We are a small community just 10 miles south of Mitchell, SD that celebrated our 125th anniversary in 2008. Our town has many activities to offer for people of all ages. As you can see we have a beautiful park that is still in the progress of being improved. Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Feeding Plan and Discharge. A speech therapist came to observe one of his feedings and noticed that he was making some choking sounds when he was trying to eat. A Modified Barium Swallow Study was ordered and we discovered that about 1/3 of what Ethan was taking orally was not making it to his stomach - he was aspirating it into his lungs instead. Monday, August 17, 2009. Summary of Ethan's Journey. Ethan Skidmore, our fourth child, was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome at 19 weeks in utero. We were told he had it very severe and would require a series of three surgeries to make him a “half-heart” baby. I guess I just wanted to post a little update because I am just so proud of how far my little boy has come in this past year! Ethan is in preschool for 26 hours a week. 6.5 hrs. a day Monday-Thursday. He also gets around 10 hours of ABA therapy in home during the week. And so much more!
