Gourmet Grey Nomads Our Camping Spots: Tas - Port Huon

http://gourmetgreynomadscamping.blogspot.com/2011/07/tas-port-huon.html

Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Tas - Port Huon. Shipwrights Point is a large treed and grassed area behind the Yacht club at port Huon. We drove in, parked the van, got settled, put the chairs out ready for our evening drink and a dozen yachts began to assemble in front of the club house. After about half an hour the race began and we enjoyed watching them tacking back and forth across the river. Well worth the stop. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tas - Wayatinah Campground. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Coral Bay has two caravan parks. We picked the Bayview but next time we would stay at Peoples Caravan Park as it is right on the beach. The Bayview is large, lots of trees for shade but they also drip orange sap on the vans during the night. The amenities are modern and clean. The swimming pool is beautiful. Two very well kept amenities blocks, swimming pool and. A jumping pillow for the kids and lots of space for them to run around. This park is walking distance to town which was very handy for our cups of coffee and to browse around the wonderful array of shops. Ph: 08 8563 2784. Links to this post. Main North Rd,.

Gourmet Grey Nomads Our Camping Spots: Tas - Barilla (near Hobart)

http://gourmetgreynomadscamping.blogspot.com/2011/07/tas-barilla-near-hobart.html

Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Tas - Barilla (near Hobart). There was a fantastic new 19 hole mini golf course and a cafe serving pizza and fish and chips. We didn’t try any but they certainly smelt and looked good. There is also a hot plunge pool that you can rent for $20.00 for two people per hour. (We didn’t try that either! The park was a handy location, just outside of Hobart and in the country. Fee: $30.00 per night. Cambridge, Tas 7170. Ph: 03 6248 5869. Website: www.barilla.com.au. Tas - Bay of Fires.

Gourmet Camping Cuisine: Oriental Salad

http://gourmetgreynomadscuisine.blogspot.com/2010/05/oriental-salad.html

Thursday, May 27, 2010. 1/2 fennel bulb sliced thinly. 1/2 chinese cabbage sliced thinly. 1/2 tsp thyme leaves. 80 mls olive oil. To make dressing, pound thyme leaves with mortar and pestle, whisk remainder of ingredients together and add pepper to taste. Toss all salad ingredients and dressing together and this is delicious with most fish dishes. The last time I made this salad I didn't have mint or dill so substituted them with coriander and it tasted very nice. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Gourmet Grey Nomads Restaurants: April 2009

http://gourmetgreynomadsrestaurants.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 21, 2009. NSW - Balina - Shelly's On The Beach. While our caravan was being repaired in Alstonville, we spent the day traveling from Balina up the coast to Byron Bay, Lennox Head and then back. We had breakfast at “Shelly’s On The Beach” in Balina. It is a beautiful spot, and as the name says, right on the beach, serving breakfast, lunch and coffee. I had an omelet and Mike had bacon and eggs. They were both delicious served with sour dough bread, our favourite, and the coffee was great.

Are We There Yet? Interesting photos and signs. Free and Low Cost Camps. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. Train and first night in Vancouver. After staying in Seattle for one night after the cruise, we took the Seattle Shuttle bus to King Street Station for the Amtrak Cascade Coastal train to Vancouver. Check-in and security went smoothly. The train was comfortable and the view wonderful. The train moved slowly enough for the scenery to pass and for us to take photos. View from our room :(. In the lift :).

Are We There Yet? Interesting photos and signs. Free and Low Cost Camps. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Day 3 Canadian Rockies Road Trip to Lake Louise. We left Three Valley Chateau and drove to Revelstoke for breakfast on the go. "Coffee at Tim Horton's is not very good" said Peter. Jonnie and I thought the hot chocolate was fine. Friday, August 28, 2009. This cafe was recommended by some locals to our friends Robyn and John while they were up here for a holiday. We were so impressed by what they had said that we decided to try it ourselves. We have now eaten there several times. The decor is what I would call bohemian and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The food is fantastic and incredible value for money. All the dishes are huge and the food is sooooooo tasty. When visiting Cairns, this place is a must. Cairns, Qld. 4870. Tuesda...

Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Back home in Newcastle. We are now back in Newcastle and have moved into our home again. The people who rented it while we were away took very good care of it so we were very grateful. You do hear some horror stories. Our home/office is in Charlestown, Newcastle and the office number is 02 4943 1887. We hope to see you there. Our total mileage for our trip was 72,000 kilometres. Not bad for two grey nomads having a casual "holiday". Links to this post. Friday, March 18, 2011. Our t...

About Us

Wednesday, March 11, 2009. For those of you who don’t know Mike and myself and how we began this journey around Australia I shall briefly fill you in. Mike and I live in Newcastle, have a lovely home, two amazing daughters and their partners, the best four grand children in the world (of course I’m biased) and a wonderful business in New Lambton. Our first spanner in the works was that we had just purchased a new Nissan X trail which we loved, was great to pull our camper trailer but not a caravan so we ...

Friday, March 12, 2010. SA-Baird Bay seal and dolphin trip. Baird Bay is an isolated fishing village on the west coast, about 50klms south of where we were staying at Streaky. The Bay and its surrounds offer fishing, bush walking, bird watching, and the incredible opportunity to swim with dolphins and sea lions in their natural habitat. Sunday, April 4, 2010. We had been driving around Cape Naturaliste, visited the lighthouse and decided that lunch would be a good idea. We saw a sign beside the road advertising this cafe so thought that we would give it a try. What a find. This cafe is beside the beach, very modern with floor to ceiling windows making the most of the view. After lunch we ordered a take away coffee and laid on the beach. What a way to finish an incredible meal. Bunker Bay Naturaliste, WA 6281. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
