Tahoe Rim Trail 100 mile Recap | JP chronicles

https://jpchronicles.com/2012/07/30/tahoe-rim-trail-100-mile-recap

Tahoe Rim Trail 100 mile Recap. July 30, 2012. I put together a little story as to how I became interested in this race, who helped me get to this place, and how the actual race turned out. Despite my successes, I was battling a sprained ankle that kept flaring up every month or two. I began physical therapy in April, and had an x-ray to clear myself before attempting the next race. It was clear, so I headed down to the East Side for my first 100k- the last big race before my 100 miler. Ow on a much high...

Weekend at the lake. August 2, 2015. This past weekend, JP took me on a surprise trip to a beautiful mountain lake. After a two-hour drive on a super rough, winding road, we arrived at our destination lake at midnight Friday night. Under a full moon, we paddled by canoe to find an island to call home for the weekend. Moon over the mountains. oh, and we saw a shooting star about halfway across the lake…. Saturday morning, I awoke to find myself in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places imaginable.

Lucky 66.6 (or 67.8) on the PCT. September 27, 2016. The following is a photo essay from last weekend’s adventure on the Pacific Crest Trail. Less than two weeks earlier, and only joined us for the first part. Stacie and I continued on to witness a beautiful sunrise on the ridgeline between Mt. Lincoln and Anderson Peak. Stacie running towards Anderson Peak, with views of the ridge we would be on in about 20 miles in the distance. Best not to think too far ahead though. Fall colors in Tahoe on the PCT/TRT.

Running on My Time

Running on My Time. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. I had a half marathon this past weekend and had the opportunity to wear some new gear when I raced! This is great not only because I loved the gear, but it meant I actually wore something different for a race than I have for the past couple years. Champion sent me an amazing sports bra to try out! The All-Out Support Sports Bra. Next was a new shirt, the Champion Vapor PowerTrain Tee. It did not ride up and show my mid-rift (no one wants to see that)!

Why do runners gain weight? August 21, 2016. I do think that it is important to keep a daily food diary. The calories that we do not burn during the day are stored as fat. There are several web sites and apps to keep a daily calorie count. A couple of good examples are the MyFitnessPal app for smartphones and SuperTracker. 8220;Man imposes his own limitations, don’t set any”. January 27, 2016. February 7, 2016. Week 08 - Less Than 50 Days to Go! Onto the highlights of the week…. For the long run, I was back up in Greenville. Since I had a somewhat low cadence average from the long ride, my quads felt like lead. I’m sure the fact that riding for that long attributed to it, but I had plenty of low cadence efforts strewn throughout the ride so I had a hunch it would come back to bite me later. There was a fellow along the trail that was offering water and Nuun. The water was great because it was cold. Week 09 - 2n...

Running on One Good Hip. Thoughts and pictures from a running Librarian. Proud owner of 1 broken hip from 2014. Race, Rest, Race, Rest, Race…. August 2, 2015. August 2, 2015. I’ve not ran in a week since Thunder Run 24. Before Thunder Run I had a slight thigh strain that I would class as a discomfort. Certainly as a runner who clocks 70 miles a week regularly I am used to suffering discomfort and even enjoy it to a degree. 1) Learn the difference between discomfort and pain. 2) Do the sock test. I have g...

Running on Peanut Butter - Fueling Both Addictions

Running on Peanut Butter. Just a Handful of Questions Because It’s Thursday. August 13, 2015. By Running on Peanut Butter. I’m not sure if the end of the work week has flown by or what, but it’s almost here and I cannot wait. Since I’ve had a bit of a busy week with my evenings, I figured today would be a fun day to do the survey that Jessie of Jessie Loves 2 Run. Did at the beginning of the week. I can never pass up a fun survey, especially since they remind me of MySpace circa 2002. Everyone has a diff...
