The Peak Condition Project - Shelly

Tuesday, 15 December 2009. So Long and Thanks for All the Fish! I remember telling a physician friend about PCP at the start of this program, and he predicted that I would probably see little change compared to other participants that might have more weight to lose, or poor diet habits that need correcting. While he was right in that the changes in my body have been subtle. And I wasn't looking for huge shifts either). The real evolution isn't something that you can capture in a photo. The Peak Condition Project - Shelly: Day 80 :: Curse of the Final Indulgence

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-shelly.blogspot.com/2009/12/day-80-curse-of-final-indulgence.html

Thursday, 3 December 2009. Day 80 : Curse of the Final Indulgence. For all of you considering joining the PCP, consider yourself warned. By the time you're allowed the third indulgence, you're not going to want it AT ALL and you'll most likely be a liiiiiittle sorry for it the next day! Yesterday, I struggled with a phenomenal food hangover - sluggish, grumpy, el bloato - all over a pile of linguine with white clam sauce, crusty bread and two glasses of red wine. Going forward, I think I'll still indulge...

The Peak Condition Project - Shelly: Day 87 :: Learning to Love Your Tormentor

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-shelly.blogspot.com/2009/12/day-87-learning-to-love-your-tormentor.html

Thursday, 10 December 2009. Day 87 : Learning to Love Your Tormentor. Yesterday the unthinkable happened. At some point in my ab routine, I. can't believe I'm actually saying this. started to love the planks. Really. Or, maybe it happened after the combined 10 abs sets to failure, when I caught my reflection in the kitchen window. My core was so pumped it looked like it was sculpted from modeling clay. Whoa! As I'm still dividing my routine this week (jumps am, strength pm). Me thinks I'm going to have s...

The Peak Condition Project - Shelly: Day 89 :: Day Before the Last Day!

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-shelly.blogspot.com/2009/12/day-89-day-before-last-day.html

Saturday, 12 December 2009. Day 89 : Day Before the Last Day! Sorry my PCPeeps, I so wanted to keep up with the countdown and post yesterday, but my internet connection pooped out on me until late last night. Arrgh, technology! Today's workout was a total killer, the toughest yet, and now that it's done, I gotta say. I'm feeling pretty amazing! Can't even begin to imagine having tackled that routine 3 months ago, but thanks to PCP, I've now got the strength and energy to power right through. Day 78 : My ...

The Peak Condition Project - Shelly: October 2009

http://www.thepeakconditionproject-shelly.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, 29 October 2009. Day 45 : Halfway There! When I'm about midway through my PCP workout, I'm feeling pretty great. The early am sleepiness has shaken off, my heart is pumping, there's fresh oxygenated blood coursing through my body, I hit the groove and my mind is clear. That's pretty much where I'm at right now on day 45. I'm now seeing (and feeling! I'm betting the 90 day group is also feeling fairly fine - congrats to you guys on a huge achievement! Wishing a fabulous day and a big HOO YEA.

The Peak Condition Project - Emily: PC-PMS and a Case of Senioritis

http://thepeakconditionproject-emily.blogspot.com/2009/12/pc-pms-and-case-of-senioritis.html

Tuesday, December 8, 2009. PC-PMS and a Case of Senioritis. Dude, I totally have senioritis. Not like, wow-I'm totally-as-buff-as-I-need-to-be-senioritis . . . but like, I-can't-wait-till-I-finally-graduate-from-this-place-and-can-really-be-myself-at-college senioritis. Like, I-should-be-studying-but-instead-I-just-ate-some-cookie-dough senioritis. (Immediate stomachache, btw.). Am I doing something wrong? It's the eggs. It HAS to be the eggs. The Peak Condition Project - Naomi: The final day

http://thepeakconditionproject-naomi.blogspot.com/2009/12/final-day.html

Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Hi everyone. It's great to read all of your final day posts and it was equally great partaking in the PCP with you all. This is just a quick final post to let you all know how I'm doing. I've not been anywhere near a PC for a few days as I was staying in a forest in a hill station in southern India for the past five days. It's been totally blissful. Thanks to Chen and Patrick for all your knowledge and mentoring and I would love to do the advanced PCP next year! Thanks for the...

Friday, November 20, 2009. Day 67."Oh my. What indentations you have"! In your stomach. Noticing some nice indents from those ab exercises. That's why I love (sometimes hate) those planks. RRrr.90 secs.maybe the love is less intense. November 20, 2009 at 7:01 AM. You look super buff, Denise! November 20, 2009 at 10:05 AM. I cant believe you love plank, but yes, it is effective. Can you believe were doing 90second sets now! November 20, 2009 at 10:17 AM. Shoot us some new pics, Denise! Day 67.Oh my.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Day 16 - Chop Chop. Day 16 finds me up earlier than normal with the PCP. Last night was a late working night. Time spent going to the gym (rrrrrr.just cause I am not able to jump right now) did not give enough time to chop the head of cauliflower normally done. Food: Recipe swapping is a good idea. Me.I am not too creative with food. I leave that to the resident foodie. Which leads me back to. The morning.more chopping. First.coffee."Get in my belly"! Week one under the belt.

Sunday, November 29, 2009. Letting Go of Old Habits. It's 11 pm, and I just hung up my apron for the day. With less than 2 weeks left(! To celebrate with after Day 90. And I wondered about whether I would jump rope the day I eat them. Saturday, November 28, 2009. I'm feeling a little burned out on routines, but now that I've finished the day's strength exercises and eaten some lunch, I wanted to pop in and share this episode. Of Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie. http://thepeakconditionproject-emily.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 28, 2009. I say it's time for a recipe swap! I've adopted cumin seeds, thanks to Naomi; gone crazy for figs at Shelly's suggestion; and Jonti and Denise, I still haven't quite gotten down the hard-boiled egg peeling. What else is going on in your PCP kitchens? I've been using a lot of different whole grains: oats, quinoa, brown rice, and I recently found some farro (delicious! Alice Waters's cookbook, Vegetables,. 3 shallots, diced. 1 small cucumber, seeded and diced. Speaking of freezi...

Friday, January 1, 2010. Some final day photos of me on a beach in Kerala. Actually these photos were taken on my birthday on 17th December. What an amazing holiday it was and made all the better for knowing I was in peak health! Being in India it's always best for women to respect the local custom and dress modestly, even on the beach, hence the lack on bikini here, so sorry, no abs shots! A very cool moment! Monday, September 28, 2009. Day 13; Week3, here I come! Today’s blog is going to be long because I want to review the last few days as a whole. My PCP group and I end this week’s PCP diet and workout regime today. Looking back on this week, despite having some difficult days, overall I’ve really enjoyed the food and the exercise sessions have been relatively enjoyable too and, at least they’ve been quick. I do hate lunges though; I find them so boring and not very effective. But on the whole, I’ve ...

Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Day 90'ish - Milestones. We are officially through with the formal 90 day Peak Condition Project as led by Patrick and Chen. Thank you gentlemen for your leadership, support and knowledge. Thank you for the combination of exercise and example by you and all former PCP'ers. For representing the project so well. It made the tough days and challenges bearable. Both fun and tough days were a blast with my group, Denise. The all girl PCP Team Rocked it! Cardio - I have always enj...

Sunday, April 17, 2011. Kicked out of the Nest. Time to leave the nest of the PCP. Day 90 (actually.Day 93) - final post as a PCP-er. Although perhaps we are now PCP-ers for life! Wow, so much to say. I. I might have been the oldest PCPer in this group of 26 team participants.by the way, congratulations to EVERYBODY for completing the Project! I entered the PCP 51 years. Speaking of celebrations, I just remembered that about this time last year was when I first decided to become a vegan. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Over one Year Later. Just kidding. Of course you do. Well, here I am. It's been one year and some since I completed the PCP. Guess what, things are great! Do I still exercise? Yes I do. I completed Patrick's new program the Kung Fu Body this year- although I'm ashamed to say with no where near the gusto I had for the PCP. Why did I join this new program, you ask? Am I still mindful of what I eat? Yes- every frickin' day. Do I eat junk food? Am I still on the diet? If you need...

Friday, September 2, 2011. Day 90 - End of Days. That 90 days went pretty quick - along with the rest of 2011. It is amazing what you can do with a little willpower and a bit of help from some guys who know what they are doing. I started the program on holiday in Bali on June 1st after our friends' wedding and although I was pretty strict on the exercises in the first week, I found it hard to restrict my eating to 1/2 portions as a lot of the eating was buffet style - and was soooo good. I lost just over...
